Easter Sunday

We had a great Easter morning with KJ. We had finished breakfast and the egg hunt and were just sitting down to relax. We were looking forward to attending Catholic Mass (mormons at mass!) and eating Kyle's mom's fried chicken for dinner. That all changed when we got a phone call saying that Kyle's older brother Tyler had died in his sleep. Our Easter had gone from one of fun to one filled with despair. We immediately began looking up flights and were truly blessed to find the one that we did. It was about half the cost of other sites and was nonstop to Las Vegas. Kyle received an amazing blessing from Ryan that really helped him make it through the emotional week. Even though it's still hard, we both know that Tyler's passing was meant to be.

It's weird, but I have been training for a half marathon for the past 9 weeks and have felt from the moment I started that, for some unknown reason, I would not be running it. I kept pushing the thought aside and continued to train, but could never get over the feeling. The race was scheduled for April 30th in Des Moines and Tyler's funeral was April 29th in Utah.

Kyle had a similar experience, in that in the last 6 weeks he has felt strongly that he needed to have all outlines for his classes completed prior to the final week of class. Luckily, he followed the promptings and completed his final outline 12 hours before he got the phone call. The lord helped us to get our lives in order so that we could spend this past week with family and have no worries about our life back home. How grateful we are that He did.
